FRIENDS OF THE TALENT PROJECT

SUTTON FOSTER is back on Broadway, starring as Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical. She recently starred on Broadway as Inga in the new Mel Brooks musical, Young Frankenstein. Prior to that, Sutton was Janet Van De Graff in The Drowsy Chaperone (2006 Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations, LA Ovation Award) and Jo March in Little Women: The Musical (2005 Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle Award nominations). She is the recipient of the 2002 Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Astaire Awards for her performance as Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie, a role she created in the 2000 La Jolla Playhouse premiere. Other Broadway credits include Les Miserables, Annie, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Grease!. Regional productions include What the World Needs Now (Old Globe), Dorian (Goodspeed), The Three Musketeers (San Jose Musical Theater), Nellie Forbush in South Pacific and Sally in Me and My Girl (both at Pittsburgh CLO). She has toured nationally in The Will Rogers Follies, Les Miserables, and Grease!. She has appeared as Svetlana in Chess in Concert and as the “I’m the Greatest Star” Fanny Brice in Funny Girl in Concert, both Actors Fund of America benefits. On television, Sutton recently guest starred on the Disney Channel’s “Johnny and the Sprites,” and on several episodes of the HBO series “The Flight of the Conchords.” Sutton has performed in concert at Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series, with the Philly Pops, and the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. She performed her solo act, “June in January,” at Joe’s Pub. Recordings include The Maury Yeston Songbook (PS Classics), Jule Styne in Hollywood, and the original cast recordings of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Little Women, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Young Frankenstein and Shrek. Her solo CD, Wish, was released in early 2009.
   
SHOSHANA BEAN was most recently seen flying high defying gravity as the green skinned witch Elphaba in the Broadway and touring productions of Wicked. She was in the original cast of the Tony-Award winning musical Hairspray and the Off-Broadway revival of Godspell. Shoshana sang back-up for an endless list of superstars at Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary celebration at Madison Square Garden and shared the stage with Grammy Awarad Nominee Brian McKnight at the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards to honor Aretha Franklin. Other television appearances include Soul Train Christmas Starfest, MTV's Made, Good Morning America and the Martha Stewart Show. She has lent her voice to the film soundtracks for "Enchanted," "Hairspray" and the forthcoming Wayan's brothers film, "Dance Flick." She can be heard on the Actor's Fund benefit recording of Hair, Scott Alan's 'Dreaming Wide Awake' and Jeremy Schonfeld's '37 Notebooks.' As a singer/songwriter her work has been featured on "The Hills" and NBC. Her debut solo album, 'Superhero' is now available on itunes, ShoshanaBean.com, amazon, and CD Baby.
   
JENN GAMBATESE has starred on Broadway as Natalie in All Shook Up (for which she received an Outer Critic's Circle nomination), and as Jane in Tarzan. She can be heard on the original cast recordings of both these shows, as well as Hairspray-- a show in which she created an ensemble role, and later went on to play Penny Pingleton. She has also appeared on Broadway as Marie in Mark Twain's hilarious farce Is He Dead, as Mouse (and other forest creatures) in the delightful family show A Year with Frog and Toad, and as Urleen in Footloose. Off-Broadway, she was seen in Stairway to Paradise—part of City Center's "Encores" series, and in Reefer Madness. Jenn has toured both Europe and North America as Serena Katz in the musical Fame—a show which marked her first cast recording. She's appeared on numerous morning television shows and the soap opera 'All My Children'. An honors graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a proud member of Actor's Equity, Jenn is happy to be a supporter of The NYC Talent Project!
   
MICHAEL BALDERRAMA (Executive Director, R.Evolucion Latina) has been working, performing, and teaching within the field of performing arts for almost 20 yrs. He has taught, performed, and choreographed in over a dozen countries on 4 continents. In the last 5 years, he has learned that working, teaching and inspiring youth is not only a forte of his, but passion. His experience in the arts gives him a unique insight helping artisits accomplish goals within the arts. He also continues to focus on his performing and choreography career as Dance Captain, Fight Captain, and principal understudy in the hit Broadway Musical In the Heights. This is the fifth Broadway show he has been a part of. Other shows include Saturday Night Fever (featured performer), Urban Cowboy (featured performer), Movin’ Out (featured performer, Lead understudy), and Hot Feet (Starring Role). He has shared the stage with such greats as Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan, Mariah Carey, Brian Adams, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Keith David, Elizabeth Parkinson, and many others. He has worked closely with Andy Blakenbueler, Twyla Tharp, Julie Taymor, Sergio Trajillo, Mia Michaels, Alan Johnson, Maurice Heins, and many other amazing choreographers and directors. He can be seen in “Across the Universe”, “Ghosts”, and commercials and videos around the world.
   
CARA COOPER has appeared in the Broadway casts of Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer, All Shook Up, and Urban Cowboy. She has toured the country in Monty Python’s Spamalot, 42nd Street, and The Who’s Tommy. Cara is a NYU/CAP21 graduate and she also attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She has taught numerous master classes and loves sharing her passion for the theater.
   
JENNIFER CODY is currently in Shrek the Musical on Broadway. Previous Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include Pajama Game, No No Nanette, Taboo, Urinetown, The Wild Party, Junie B. Jones, Henry and Mudge, Seussical, Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Cats, and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Television credits include "Untitled Paul Reiser Pilot," "Rosie Live," "Law and Order," "The Understudies (pilot)." Jen will be heard as the voice of Charlotte in Disney's upcoming animated film "The Princess and the Frog."
   
PETER GREGUS has just celebrated his 25th year as a profession performer. He is currently performing in the hit Broadway show Jersey Boys as the 4 Seasons first record producer, Bob Crewe. Other prior Broadway engagements include the original cast of Contact at Lincoln Center Theater and also in the original cast of Ain't Broadway Grand. During the past 25 years, Peter has had the honor of working with such stage luminaries as Liza Minelli, Tommy Tune, Anna Reinking, and for illustrious directors as Susan Stroman (Contact), Mike Ockrent (A Christmas Carol), and Des MacAnuff (Jersey Boys). Through his career, Peter has had made the time to work with young performers, teaching master classes in dance, Musical Theater performance and audition technique. Currently, he not only performs in Jersey Boys nightly, but is also in charge of their “Frankie Camp”, a week long training workshop for actors with the potential to play the role of Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys.
   
TIFFANY ENGEN is currently in the National Tour of Legally Blonde after performing in Legally Blonde on Broadway! She plays Noreen (with twin sister Brooke as Doreen) in the movie "Hairspray." Other credits: The Awesome 80’s Prom, the film: "Drop Dead Gorgeous," music videos with Britney Spears, Madonna, & Avril Lavigne. BROOKE ENGEN is currently in the Awesome 80s Prom. Other credits include Hairspray on Broadway as Tammmy, u/s Amber Von Tussle. Gypsy starring Bernadette Peters. She plays Doreen (with twin sister as Noreen) in the Hairspray movie. TV credits include Rachel Ray, Oprah, Today Show, and Letterman.
   
ASMERET GHEBREMICHAEL has been on Broadway in Legally Blonde, Spamalot, Wicked, Footloose. First National Tour: Disney's Aida. Off Broadway: In the Heights (Drama Desk Award, Best Ensemble), LoneStar Love. Film: Confessions of a Shopaholic, Red Hook, The Drummer.TV: MTV Presents: Legally Blonde, Law&Order: Trial By Jury, As the World Turns. Asmeret received her B.S. in Communications from New York Unversity, where she was Valedicotry Speaker of her graduating class.
   
RUSTY MOWERY has been on Broadway in Cats, Ragtime, Seussical, Hairspray (production dance supervisor) and Legally Blonde. National Tour Credits include Ragtime and Fiddler on the Roof. Rusty has also been the associate choreographer of Legally Blonde (London) and Zanna Don't (Off-Broadway); production dance supervisor of Legally Blonde (1st Nation Tour); choreographer of Ragtime (Music Theatre Wichita).
